Edmonton Capitals News Release
The Edmonton Capitals only have two home games scheduled for the next two weeks, and they're coming up fast tonight and tomorrow night, so get your fill of local professional baseball before the team heads out on the road until Aug. 10.
Wednesday night's 7 p.m. game against the Calgary Vipers is not only another edition of Sonic Wiener Wednesdays - where Capital Dogs are on sale for just $2 - it's also the official debut of the team's new mascot, Captain Capital. Edmonton's brand new superhero will make a high-octane entrance to TELUS Field before the game, so make sure you get there early.
The Caps and Vipers play once more on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at TELUS, and it's another edition of 4 for $44 Thursdays, where fans can purchase four tickets to the game, four Pepsi products and four hot dogs for just $44. Thursday is also Team Poster Night, presented by 91.7 The Bounce, as all fans will received a free Caps team poster.
The Caps currently have a 6-2 record during the Golden Baseball League's second half, and sit behind the first-place Vipers (9-2) in the North Division standings. The teams were scheduled to play each other four times in Calgary recently, and after the Vipers won two of the first three, Monday night's game was cancelled after a severe thunderstorm hit the city. The provincial rivals have already played each other nine times this season, with the Caps winning seven of them.
The Capitals are Edmonton's first choice for professional baseball and family entertainment. Season seats start at less than $9 per game and are available pro-rated for the balance of the season. Individual game tickets are available for just $10 every game. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, the TELUS Field Box Office during regular business hours, by calling (780) 414-GOAL (4625) or online at capsbaseball.ca.
