Caps in Town for Comedy Night at Coliseum

Bloomington, IL - The Bloomington Thunder host the Madison Capitols to open up their second straight 3-in-3 when the USHL's newest expansion teams face off at 7:00 pm CST the U.S. Cellular Coliseum. This is the second meeting between the Thunder and Capitols this season after a 4-2 Thunder win in Madison just before the Christmas break.

It is a La Gondola Family Night and then catch Comedy with Quinn Patterson after the game in the Smokehouse Restaurant. Get four tickets in the Lower End and a $25 gift card to La Gondola for $50 while supplies last. Upgrade to Premium seating for just $5. Bloomington comes into the game with a 12-16-6 record in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and have had a tough road as of late. The Thunder were 0-2-1 in a 3-in-3 with the Tri-City Storm and Muskegon Lumberjacks. The three games took place in under 43 hours and the final game ended in a 4-3 shootout with the Lumberjacks. Thunder goaltender Logan Halladay (University of Minnesota) helped the team earn a point in the game thanks to 43 saves including 17 saves in the third period. Montreal Canadiens draft pick Nikolas Koberstein (Montreal Canadiens, University of Alaska-Fairbanks) picked up his first point with the Thunder, a goal, as Ryan Siroky (Miami University) and Jake Slaker also tallied in the game.

Madison is on a five-game point streak and coming off a 3-2 overtime loss against the Lincoln Stars on Wednesday evening. The Capitols are led by Will Johnson (Dartmouth College) with 36 points and a league leading 27 assists on the season. The Caps are coming off weekend performances from Freddy Gerard (Ohio State University) and Garrett Metcalf who earned CCM honors as co-forward and co-goaltender of the week. Gerard grabbed three goals in two games while Metcalf is 3-0-1 in his last four starts including his first USHL shut-out.

Next Home Game: Friday, February 13th at 7:00 pm CST is the Thunder's Par-A-Dice Casino T-shirt Giveaway Night.
