Madison Capitols News Release
The Sioux City Musketeers claim Game 2 of the Clark Cup Finals tonight after defeating the Madison Capitols 3-0. Tonight marks just the 3rd time in 74 games this season that the Caps have been shutout.
Following the season pattern after getting shutout, the Capitols have bounced back and followed up with a win the very next game in both instances.
Sioux City had goals in first and third periods tonight with the last one being an empty-netter with 30 seconds left in regulation.
Madison made a push in the third period and outshot the Musketeers 9-8 but was unable to solve Sioux City netminder, Alex Tracy.
The series will now shift back to Madison for games 3 and 4 at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena on Friday, May 20th and Saturday, May 21st. Puck drop at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
