'Caps fall in a close one, face Impact on Tuesday

Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
TORONTO, ON - Vancouver Whitecaps FC fell to Toronto FC 1-0 in a close one at BMO Field on Friday evening in MLS regular season action.
After an evenly paced beginning to the match, TFC opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a fast-paced Richie Laryea shot into the bottom right corner of the net, just past the outstretched fingers of a diving Thomas Hasal.
That 1-0 score line would stand for the remainder of the match as Vancouver found themselves just short of netting an equalizer on multiple occasions. A solid defensive effort in the second half as well as another strong outing from Thomas Hasal with seven saves were not enough to top the reigning Eastern Conference champions.
Next up the 'Caps will travel to Stade Saputo to face Montreal Impact on Tuesday, August 25. Kickoff in Quebec is at 5 p.m. PT live on TSN1/4 and TSN Radio 1040.
ADDITIONAL NOTES: Patrick Metcalfe made his first MLS start, becoming the ninth Academy product to start for Whitecaps FC... Hasal's save total was just one short of his career-high, set against Sporting Kansas City in the Round of 16 at the MLS is Back Tournament.
