Madison Capitols News Release

MIDDLETON, Wisc. - Madison Capitols Head Coach and General Manager Andy Brandt announced today the team has acquired Sioux City's 2024 Phase II 2nd Round selection from the Musketeers in exchange for forward Jonah Aegerter.

Aegerter was originally selected in the 2020 Phase I Draft in the second round, 18th overall, by the Tri-City Storm. After playing two seasons in the NAHL with Janesville, his hometown, the Capitols acquired the forward ahead of the 2022-23 season. In 61 games with Madison, Aegerter recorded 25 points, which included nine goals. He is committed to play his collegiate hockey at St. Cloud State University.

In return for Aegerter, the Capitols received a 2024 Phase II 2nd Round Draft Pick. The Capitols now hold three second round picks in the 2024 USHL Phase II Draft to go along with the team's first rounder. This matches the amount of picks selected by Madison in the first two rounds of the 2023 Phase II Draft.

This move allows the Capitols to enhance their future prospects and build a lasting, competitive team that can excel. With a strong commitment to player development and a clear vision for success, the Capitols are confident that they can continue to make strides towards becoming one of the premier organizations in the league.
