Madison Capitols News Release
The Capitols announced the acquisition of Dakota MacIntosh from Fargo on Monday. The trade for MacIntosh happened during the 2023 USHL Draft. In exchange for MacIntosh, the Capitols sent Fargo the 30th overall pick, one of four second-round selections that Madison was scheduled to make.
"We're excited to add Dakota to our mix up front, more specifically down the middle," said Capitols Head Coach and General Manager Andy Brandt about acquiring MacIntosh. "This move [to acquire MacIntosh] gives us a lot more flexibility and depth that we didn't have going into the draft. To acquire a player who has the scoring touch of Dakota is exactly what we were looking to do. He has almost 30 goals combined between the regular and postseason with Alberni Valley, which we hope translates to the USHL."
MacIntosh played in eight games with Fargo as an affiliated player during the 2022-23 season, scoring twice and recording three points. Besides his games in the USHL, MacIntosh spent the season in the BCHL with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
With Alberni Valley, he was over a point per game player putting up 38 points in 31 games leading his team to the playoffs. The Winnipeg native, MacIntosh, is currently leading Alberni Valley in playoff scoring with 22 points in 15 games en route to the Fred Page Cup Final where they will face off against Penticton. Game one is scheduled for Friday night in Penticton.
With the pick that was exchanged for MacIntosh, Fargo selected Tate Taylor, a right shot defenseman also playing in the BCHL.
