Canucks Assign Santala to Moose for Conditioning

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have assigned forward Tommi Santala to the Moose for conditioning purposes.

Santala, 27, has played in 10 games so far this season with the Canucks where he has collected one assist and 12 penalty minutes. In 43 career NHL games with Vancouver and the Atlanta Thrashers, the Helsinki, FN native has scored one goal and 23 assists for 24 points and 34 penalty minutes. In 117 career AHL games - all with the Chicago Wolves - Santala has 23 goals and 62 assists for 85 points and 117 penalty minutes.

Santala was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers with their ninth round choice, 245th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
