Boston Cannons News Release
Boston, MA (December 5, 2006) - The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today the team selected 9 players in the 2007 MLL Supplemental Draft. The draft took place on Tuesday December 5, beginning at 1:00PM ET and ending at approximately 2:20PM ET. Boston had the eighth selection in nine of the draft's ten rounds. The Cannons traded their second round pick to the Long Island Lizards
With its first pick (8th overall) Boston chose attackman Joe Kostolansky. He scored 10 goals in 10 games for Rochester in 2006, including 3 two-point goals. Kostolansky also added 4 assists on the season. He scored a hat trick against the Cannons in Rochester on August 11, 2006.
"We addressed the areas we needed to today," said Bill Daye, Cannons Head Coach. "We acquired a lot of talented players. It is going to be an exciting training camp this year and I'm looking forward to our first practice in the spring."
With its second pick, 28th overall, the Cannons selected another player with MLL experience, Spencer Wright. He appeared in four games for New Jersey in 2006.
