Canaries to Host World Series Kickoff Party

The Sioux Falls Canaries just can't get enough baseball. The Northern League season may be over, but the Sioux Falls Canaries aren't ready to let 2004 go just yet. In an effort to send the 2004 baseball season out with a bang, the Sioux Falls Canaries will be hosting a World Series Kick-off party on Saturday, October 23rd at Long Shots in downtown Sioux Falls. Long Shots is located at the corner of 6th and Main across from the Old Courthouse Museum. The party will kick off at 5:00 PM and continue for the duration of the game.
"The temperatures are dropping, and baseball fans will be settling in for the long winter months, the World Series party will hopefully give our fans and staff a chance to get together to watch baseball before the snow starts to fly," said Canaries GM John Kuhn. "Throughout the history of baseball, and especially the last few seasons, the World Series has provided some of the games most indelible memories,' commented Kuhn, âWe look forward to the chance to build some of those memories with our fans."
While the night is billed as a party for Canaries fans and friends, the general public is invited to come catch all of the action. "The folks at Long Shots have a great establishment and we appreciate them opening the doors to our fans and to all of Sioux Falls,' said Canaries Director of Fun, Dan Christopherson. âThe Canaries staff are all about having fun with our fans, and they have been hard at work planning some entertaining activities for the people who join us."
Drink specials include $1off domestic bottles or tall taps, and be sure to wear your Canaries gear to be eligible for great food deals as well. There will be door prizes, a trivia contest, and a silent auction for a night in a Canaries Luxury Suite. So gather up your friends, put on your Canaries gear, and join the Canaries at Long Shots for a night of baseball fun!
