Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
St. Paul, MN - The Sioux Falls Canaries (0-2) lost their second consecutive game at Midway Stadium, getting blanked 3-0 by the St. Paul Saints (2-0) on the second day of the second half.
All the game's scoring came in the fifth inning. Heath Keel opened the inning with a single and was sacrificed to second base on a bunt by Steve Butler. After Ryan Priddy walked to fill first base, Josh Womack came to the plate with two on and one out. Womack hit a fly ball to shallow centerfield. The fly ball dropped in, but the Canaries were able to force out Priddy at second as Womack advanced to third on the fielder's choice. With runners on the corners, and two outs, Tony Mansolino singled to score Keel and give the Saints a 1-0 lead. After Tim Brown walked to load the bases, Pichi Balet singled to score Womack and Mansolino to give St. Paul the 3-0 final.
