The Sussex Skyhawks picked up where they left off yesterday to complete a win over New Jersey in a game that was suspended due to rain. Sussex reliever Sandy Nin picked up his second win of the season after allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out four in four innings of work. Fellow reliever Greg Lane notched his first save thanks to a 1-2-3 ninth. Skyhawks LF Ryan Crespi led the way at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a double, two runs scored and a RBI.

Sussex 7, New Jersey 3 (Regularly scheduled game - 7 innings)

Sussex scored four times in the first inning and it turned out that that is all they would need as they rolled to a 7-3 win in the regularly scheduled game. Skyhawks starting pitcher Kyle Ruwe allowed three runs on four hits while fanning four in five innings to earn the victory and improve to 8-5 on the season. RF Maikel Jova led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. C Ray Serrano pitched in with a 2-for-3 effort in which he scored once and drove in a run.

Quebec 9, New Hampshire 3

HR: QC-Eddie Lantigua (11); NH-Jabe Bergeron (9), Zane Chavez (5)

The Quebec Capitales got a solid outing from starting pitcher James Kukucka and a total of seven runs in the first three innings to roll to an easy win. The Quebec rally was capped by a five-run third inning, and proved to be more than enough for Kukucka. Kukucka allowed one run on five hits while striking out four in 6 2/3 innings to run his record to 3-0 on the year. Capitales CF Goef Tomlinson led the way at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a pair of RBI. New Hampshire 1B Jabe Bergeron and C Zane Chavez each homered in the losing effort.

Worcester 5, Brockton 1

@ Worcester, MA. Time: 2:32 Attendance: 1,326

W: Zach Zuercher (7-4) L: Brad Hertzler (2-3) S: None

HR: BR-Keith Brachold (9) Worcester starting pitcher Zach Zuercher really only made one mistake, a solo home run to Brockton LF Keith Brachold, en route to his seventh win of the season. Zuercher allowed one run on seven hits and struck out four to lead the Tornadoes, pulling them within a game of second place in the second half standings. Leading the way offensively for Worcester was 2B Jeff LaHair, who was 2-for-4 with two RBI. 3B Mike MacMillan also had a good game, going 1-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI.
