Brockton DH Clyde Williams went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI while rookie 2B Derek Kinzler added a solo home run in a 2-for-4 effort to lead the Rox past Sussex. Brockton LF Palmer Karr and C Chris Grossman each went 3-for-4 to lead all hitters while CF Christopher Valencia was 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Rox starting pitcher Jeff Long allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out four in 6 1/3 innings of work to pick up the win and improve to 4-4 on the year. Closer Jerry Dunn tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his 18th save.

After the first inning, it looked as if it might be a long night for the American Defenders. Trailing 2-0 entering the second inning, New Hampshire got on the board with a run to cut the lead in half. After rallying for a pair of runs in the fourth inning to take a 3-2 lead, the American Defenders really got on a roll and would never trail from there en route to a 10-2 win. DH Jabe Bergeron led all hitters, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. New Hampshire starting pitcher Alex Woodson picked up the win to improve to 2-1.
