Brockton 5, Atlantic City 4

This contest remained a pitcher's duel into the sixth inning, before the Rox plated the first two runs of the game. From there it was a see-saw battle with Brockton ultimately scoring the go-ahead run in the bottom of the ninth to secure the walk-off win. Rox 1B Francisco Lebron led the way at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI. Brockton reliever Jerry Dunn got his first win of the season thanks to a perfect ninth. Atlantic City RF Josh Burrus was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the losing effort.

Worcester 6, Ottawa 4

The Worcester Tornadoes scored a run in the first inning, five more in the second and never looked back as they rode their early lead to a 6-4 win at home. Tornadoes starting pitcher Shaun McNamara allowed four runs, one earned, on eight hits and struck out four in seven innings to record his first win of the season. Reliever Eddie Pena picked up his first save thanks to two scoreless innings in which he allowed one base runner and struck out two. Worcester leadoff man BJ Weed led the way offensively. He was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Nashua 13, Quebec 9

It didn't look like the Nashua Pride had much of a chance when they entered the eighth inning trailing first place Quebec by a score of 9-3. Then the Pride rallied for an unprecedented 10 runs in that frame and shocked the Capitales en route to evening their record at 11-11. There were a total of 28 hits in the game, with Nashua's 15 being the lion's share. Pride RF Jeremy Pickrel led the way, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Every hitter in the Nashua lineup recorded a hit and five recorded multi-hit games.

New Jersey 7, Sussex 4 (Completion of the suspended game from June 14)

The New Jersey Jackals wasted no time getting the bats started in the completion of yesterday's suspended game, plating three runs in their first at-bat. The four through six hitters in the lineup combined to account for seven of the Jackals' 10 hits, led by LF Ramon Nivar who was 3-for-4 with four RBI. New Jersey 3B Chris Kelly was also included in that trio and was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Jackals pitcher Juan Done picked up in the top of the second inning and earned the win thanks to seven strong innings.

New Jersey 1, Sussex 0 (Regularly scheduled game - 7 innings)

@ Little Falls, NJ. Time: 1:41 Attendance: 2,522

W: Isaac Pavlik (2-2) L: Matt Salvato (1-1) S: Rusty Tucker (5)

There were a lot fewer hits to go around in game two of the doubleheader, but New Jersey made the most of the three they had to earn the sweep. Starting pitcher Isaac Pavlik allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out six in six innings to earn his second win of the season. Jackals reliever Rusty Tucker came on to toss a perfect seventh to record his fifth save. Sussex starter Matt Salvato also pitched well, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five in a complete game effort, but took the tough-luck loss.
