New Haven County at New Jersey (Postponed - Rain)

The game between New Haven County and New Jersey has been postponed due to rain. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 10 at 4:05 PM in Little Falls, NJ. Both games will consist of seven innings.

North Shore 1, Sussex 0

@Augusta, NJ. Time: 2:13 Attendance: 2021

North Shore starting pitcher Dennis Robinson was nearly perfect against the Skyhawks Friday night. Robinson pitched a complete-game shutout, while allowing only four hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Sussex got their first two men on base in the bottom of the second inning, but a double play helped get Robinson out of the inning unscathed. Sussex starting pitcher Jamie Merchant was equally impressive when in the game, as he pitched seven innings and allowed no runs on three hits with four strikeouts. But the Spirit got to Sussex reliever Dayle Campbell in the eighth inning, scoring the game's only run when North Shore PR/RF Anton French singled in pinch runner Gilbert Gil from second to put North Shore up 1-0.

Brockton 4, Quebec 1

The Rox took advantage of a second-inning error by Capitales 1B Eddie Lantigua and scored two unearned runs in the frame. The second run came with two outs, when Rox SS Andre Alvarado stole home to give his team a two-run lead. Brockton added a run in the third and seventh innings before allowing Quebec to get on the board in the eighth. Quebec used three hits to scratch across one run, but that was all they could muster against Rox starting pitcher Rolando Viera, who pitched 8.1 innings and allowed one run on eight hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. Brockton reliever Amad Stephens pitched the final 0.2 innings and allowed one hit with a strikeout to pick up his fifth save of the season.

Grays 7, Worcester 2

The Grays used small ball to get on the board early, as lead-off hitter Marcus Lewis walked, stole second, advanced to third on a 2B Josh Colafemina single and scored on a sacrifice fly by 2B Ben Tinius. Colafemina went 3-for-5 on the night with a run and an RBI. The Grays added to their one-run lead in fourth inning, taking advantage of a Worcester error to score three runs in the frame, the first two runs coming on a double by SS Charles Jeroloman. Working with a lead for the entire game, starting Grays pitcher Elliott Shaw earned his fifth win of the season after pitching six innings and allowing one run on two hits with six walks and three strikeouts. For the Tornadoes, CF Keith Beauregard hit his third home run of the season to highlight a 2-for-4 night.

Atlantic City 9, Nashua 7

Atlantic City trailed the Pride 6-4 after seven-and-a-half innings, but the Surf scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 9-6 lead. Surf C Wally Rosa scored the game-tying run on a fielder's choice off the bat of 3B Anthony Granato, who just beat the throw to first base, allowing the run to score and preserving the inning. Granato went 2-for-4 on the night with a run and a game-high four RBI. The Pride scored a run in the top of the ninth off of Surf closer Matt Pike, but the Can-Am League saves leader would not allow the Pride to come back. For the Pride, CF Rich Giannotti went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs and three RBI.
