Jackals SS Guillermo Reyes gave his team an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning with a two-run homer, his third of the season. Reyes led the way offensively for New Jersey, going 4-for-6 with three runs and six RBI. New Jersey eventually built a 5-0 lead before the Grays' first run in the sixth inning, when Grays LF Chad Gabriel hit a two-run shot of his own. Gabriel went 2-for-3 on the night with two runs and two RBI. But the Jackals answered quickly, scoring six runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 11-2. The Grays threatened to rally, but couldn't manage more than three runs over the final three innings, falling well short of the Jackals.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Cutters used a sac fly by CF Ervin Alcantara and a two-run double by 3B Junior Zamora to overtake the Capitales. New Haven County closer Andy Weimer then entered the game in the top of the ninth and pitched a 1-2-3 inning to earn his eighth save of the season. Starting Cutters pitcher Rolando Valles evened up his season record at 3-3, pitching eight innings and allowing two runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts. For the Capitales, RF/LF Nick Trainor went 2-for-4 with a run scored. New Haven County and Quebec now have identical 2-2 second-half records.

Brockton 8, Atlantic City 3

Before Thursday, Rox RF Tony Gonzalez and 2B Alex Nunez had one combined homerun. After the game against Atlantic City, they lay claim to four long-balls between them. The Rox added to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning, when Nunez hit a three-run shot to give his team a five-run lead. Brockton took a 6-0 lead, its largest of the game, in the third after a solo shot by Gonzalez, one of two blasts he hit on the night. The Surf scored two runs in the seventh inning to pull within one but would not get any closer. In the top of the ninth, Gonzalez hit his second long-ball, a two-run shot that gave Brockton a 8-3 win. Gonzalez was 3-for-4 on the night with three runs and three RBI.

The Pride wasted no time Thursday night against Sussex, scoring five runs in the first frame on five hits to take a lead they would never surrender. The Skyhawks answered with a run in the bottom of the first and two more in the second to pull within two runs. But that was as close as they would get. With Nashua holding a 6-3 lead in the top of the sixth inning, the Pride scored three runs to take a 9-3 lead. Nashua was led offensively by 2B Jermy Acey, who went 2-for-4 on the night with two runs and two RBI. For the Skyhawks, 1B Jabe Bergeron went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
