New Haven County 5, Nashua 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

New Haven County takes game one of the doubleheader thanks in part to a great game at the plate by DH D.J. Boston. Boston went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored, three runs batted in, and his second home run of the season. CF Doug Vroman chipped in as well with a 2-for-3 outing with two runs scored. Cutters' starting pitcher Courtney Hall improved his record to 5-4 on the season going six strong innings allowing only two hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. For the Pride, who are now eliminated from playoff contention, RF Mark Hamilton went 2-for-3.

New Haven County sweeps the doubleheader from the Pride with a game two win. Cutters' reliever Ryan Bonesio gets the victory in relief of starter Justin Knoff going 2 2/3 innings allowing no earned runs on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts. New Haven County closer Andy Weimer notched his 19th save of the year, which is good for second in the league. 2B Jose Delgado had a 2-for-3 performance in game two with a run scored while DH D.J. Boston had a 1-for-2 outing with two runs driven in. Nashua RF Mark Hamilton and 3B Andy Dillard each had two-hit games.
