Nashua 6, New Jersey 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Nashua gets a game one victory over the New Jersey Jackals thanks to C Tommy Rojas and 1B Billy Becher. Rojas and Becher combined to go 5-for-7 at the plate with three runs scored and four runs driven in. Rojas also added his fifth home run of the season. Pride starting pitcher Josh Stevens improved his record to 5-2 on the season going six strong innings allowing only an earned run on six hits with four strikeouts. For the Jackals, SS Guillermo Reyes and RF Alex Fernandez each had 2-for-3 games with Fernandez scoring in a run.

New Jersey 7, Nashua 6 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

New Jersey scored five runs in the seventh inning to comeback from a 6-2 deficit and beat the Pride in dramatic fashion. The win by the Jackals puts them only a game out of fourth place in the Can-Am League. SS Guillermo Reyes and C Clay Kuklick each had three-hit nights with Reyes scoring a run and Kuklick driving in two runs. Jason Wylie won the game in relief pitching 2/3 of an inning and allowing only a hit. The win gives Wylie a 4-2 mark on the year. Nashua Pride LF George Branch went 2-for-3, including a home run, and four runs knocked in. The split of the doubleheader moves the Pride into a tie with the Capitales for the fourth spot in the Can-Am League.

Worcester 1, Brockton 0 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Worcester 3B Brian Rios'triple in the first inning scored the game's only run and led the Tornadoes to a game one win over Brockton in a tremendous pitching duel between Junior Guerrero and John Kelly. Guerrero picked up his ninth win of the year pitching a complete game giving up only four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Kelly, on the other hand, took the tough luck loss in going the distance allowing the game's only run on six hits with three strikeouts. 1B Chris Colabello had a 2-for-3 outing and scored the lone run for Worcester.

Brockton 8, Worcester 0 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Brockton bounced back in game two to gain a split in the doubleheader in due part to Rox starting pitcher Rolando Viera. Viera pitched a complete game allowing no runs on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. Viera now moves his record to 9-6 on the season. At the plate for Brockton, DH Guye Senjem, 3B Mike Torres and 2B Eugene Julien combined to go 6-for-10 with two runs scored, two doubles, and five runs batted in. For Worcester, DH Jabe Bergeron was the man at the plate going 2-for-3.

New Haven County 12, Sussex 0 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

New Haven County plated 12 runs and hammered out 15 hits en route to the rout of the Skyhawks in game one of the doubleheader. CF Marcus Nettles and LF Horace Lawrence together went 6-for-10 at the plate with three runs scored and two runs batted in. C Matt Hackney also chipped in with three hits in four at-bats and two runs driven in. Cutters' starting pitcher Justin Knoff pitched a complete game giving up no runs on five hits with one walk and eight strikeouts. Knoff notches his ninth victory of the season. New Haven County has now won three straight and has clinched a playoff berth.

Sussex 6, New Haven County 2 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Sussex ran out to a 5-0 lead after the first inning and cruised from there to a four-run win over New Haven County and gained a split in the doubleheader. Jose Correra was sensational in picking up his seventh win of the season. Correra tosses a complete game allowing two runs, both earned, on eight hits with seven strikeouts. C Abraham Ayala had a 2-for-3 outing with two runs scored while LF Scott Grimes went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a run batted in. For the Cutters, LF Horace Lawrence and RF Orlando Encarnacion each had 2-for-3 games with Lawrence driving in a pair.

North Shore 4, Quebec 1

1B Jeff Brooks and SS Chris Rowan had good nights at the plate to lead the North Shore Spirit to victory over Quebec and their 11th straight win. Brooks and Rowan each had 2-for-4 nights with Brooks driving in a run and Rowan scoring a run. Spirit starting pitcher Shawn McNamara remains unbeaten at 5-0 by going 5 1/3 innings giving up no runs on four hits with five strikeouts. North Shore closer Kevin Fitzgerald continues his tremendous season by notching his 24th save, which is still the best in the league. The win by the Spirit pushes their lead to 5.5 games over Quebec and now has a magic number of one to clinch the second half title.
