Quebec took advantage of some late scoring to edge Sussex by a run and improve to 24-14 in the second half. Capitales starting pitcher Jason Pilkington pitched well, allowing three runs, one earned, on seven hits and struck out five in 6 2/3 innings, but did not factor in the decision. The Skyhawks amassed nine hits, but left 16 runners on base. Quebec was led at the plate by RF Ed Montague was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and C Olivier Lepine, who was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

North Shore 4, Worcester 0 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

North Shore starting pitcher Shawn McNamara held the Worcester Tornadoes to two hits in the first game of a doubleheader at home. McNamara struck out seven in the complete game shutout to improve to 4-0 on the season and help the Spirit move to a league-best 25-11 in the second half and notch the team's 50th win of the season. Spirit Catcher Jon DeVries led the offense at the plate, going 1-for-2, including a solo home run, his second of the year.

North Shore 6, Worcester 1 (Game 2 - 7 innings)

North Shore starting pitcher Bryan Morse notched the second complete game of the day for the Spirit, completing a sweep of Worcester. Morse allowed one unearned run on six hits and struck out five to improve to 11-4 on the season, giving him more wins than any other pitcher in the Can-Am League. Spirit C Alex Trezza also put his name atop the leader board with his 16th home run of the season in a 1-for-3 effort at the plate.

Brockton 10, New Jersey 1

Brockton used an eight run ninth inning to break open a close game and rout the Jackals. New Jersey had trailed by a run since the Rox pulled ahead in the fifth inning. Rox starting pitcher Brad Guy improved to 8-5 with the win, allowing one earned run on seven hits through eight innings of work. New Jersey starter Joe Orloski pitched well, but suffered his ninth loss of the year after he allowed two runs on just three hits through seven innings.

Nashua got a strong outing from starting pitcher Mark Hamilton to improve to 22-15 in the second half and 39-40 on the year. Hamilton held the Cutters to two earned runs on seven hits through 6 2/3 innings to improve his record to 9-5 on the year. Nashua C Tommy Rojas led the Pride at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored and RF Jayson Bass hit his sixth home run of the year in a 1-for-4 effort. New Haven County DH Derrick Gibson also homered in the game, his 13th.
