Solo home runs by 1B Matt Weston and 3B Jay Yaconetti was the difference in the game as the Sussex Skyhawks beat the Brockton Rox and sweep the three game series. This game featured a terrific pitcher's duel between Brockton's John Kelly and Sussex's Craig Snipp. Kelly was the tough luck loser as he pitched six terrific innings allowing only one earned run on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Snipp, on the other hand, evened his record at 1-1 with the victory giving up two walks and five hits while fanning four Rox batters in seven innings pitched. Skyhawks closer Matt Petrusek hurled a solid eighth and ninth inning to notch his fourth save of the year.

The Quebec Capitales scored seven big runs in the ninth inning to break the game wide open as the Capitales rout the New Jersey Jackals and complete the three game sweep. Capitales DH Pat Scalabrini led the way offensively going 3-for-4 with two home runs, two RBI and three runs scored. 3B Patrick Deschenes chipped in with a two-hit day with a run scored and three RBI. Quebec starter Erick Nadon picked up his first win of the season going seven strong innings giving up only one earned run on two hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. In the losing effort, DH Luke Allen went 1-for-3 and drove in the lone New Jersey run.

Atlantic City 7, Worcester 6

The Atlantic City Surf got an efficient outing from starting pitcher Adam Cox and survived a ninth-inning rally to pick up a win on the road and improve to 8-5 on the year. Cox allowed two runs on five hits in five innings of work to improve to 2-1 on the year. Atlantic City LF Clyde Williams led the way offensively, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. CF Lucas Taylor chipped in with a solo-home run in his 1-for-3 effort. The Tornadoes did make things interesting. Trailing by three in the ninth, Worcester scored twice to close the gap to one, but Aaron Easton came out of the pen to put an end to the rally and earn his second save.

The Nashua Pride pounded out 13 hits in support of starting pitcher Lance Stevens coasting to a win on the road. Nashua DH Dennis Abreu led the way at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run. 1B Brian Duplissie also had a big night. He was 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI. Stevens allowed three unearned runs on two hits and struck out seven in seven innings of work to improve to 2-0 on the year. Pride closer Andy Weimer came on and pitched a scoreless ninth to record his third save. Ottawa C Kyle Geiger led the way for the Rapidz in the losing effort. He was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in the seventh inning.
