Quebec 11, Ottawa 4 - Box Score
Quebec turned its offense on late in the contest as they scored seven runs over their final three trips to the plate and cruised to an 11-4 win over Ottawa.
The Capitales pounded out 12 hits in the contest with four batters having multi-hit games. Quebec RF Connor Panas led the way at the plate going 3-for-5 with a triple, a run scored and three RBIs. Capitales SS Yordan Manduley and 2B TJ White each had a two-hit game with a combined five RBIs while CF David Salgueiro walked three times and tallied three runs.
Quebec pitcher Jack Charleston threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and notched the win. The righty gave up a pair of walks and struck out one in the six batters he faced. With the victory, Charleston evened his mark at 3-3 on the season.
Second baseman Jiandido Tromp had a 2-for-4 night with two doubles and a run.
Rockland 8, New Jersey 7 - Box Score
Rockland scored a pair of runs in the seventh inning to grab an 8-4 lead and would have to hold off a late push by New Jersey to win, 8-7.
The Boulders collected 13 hits as a team and was led by RF Collin Ferguson who went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run scored and two RBIs. Rockland 1B Matt Oberste had a three-hit game, including two doubles, along with two RBIs while 3B Marcos Almonte scored two runs in a 2-for-4 night. Center fielder Chase Harris also helped the Boulders offense by chipping in a pair of base hits in four at-bats.
Rockland starting pitcher Jake Zokan tossed five innings of work and picked-up the victory. The southpaw allowed two earned runs on six hits and fanned five batters. Zokan evened his record at 4-4 on the year with the win.
For the Jackals in the loss, SS Santiago Chirino had a 3-for-5 outing with a run scored and three RBIs.
Sussex County 8, Trois-Rivieres 6 - Box Score
Sussex County increased its lead in the Can-Am League to four games as they defeated Trois-Rivieres by the final of 8-6. The Miners scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead and would never look back from there.
There were 13 hits picked-up by Sussex County tonight with the duo of LF/RF Jordan Scott and 3B/RF Mikey Reynolds leading the charge. Scott and Reynolds went a combined 6-for-10 at the dish with a home run (Reynolds), four runs scored and five RBIs. Along with those two, 2B Trey Hair and 1B/LF Jose Brizuela each had a pair of hits and a run batted in.
Miners starter Tom Burns threw 5 2/3 innings of work and notched the win. The 25-year-old gave up six earned runs on seven hits and fanned five batters. Burns is now 7-1 on the 2019 season.
