Quebec 10, Sussex County 4
After falling behind 2-0 through an inning of action, Quebec stormed back scoring six runs over the next three innings and cruising to a 10-4 win over Sussex County.
The Capitales had 14 hits in the contest with four batters having multi-hit games. TJ White went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs while James McOwen had two hits in three at-bats along with two walks and three runs scored. Kalian Sams and Zach Wilson also chipped in three hits apiece for Quebec.
Capitales starting pitcher Brett Lee allowed two earned runs over six innings of work to collect his fourth win of the season. Lee gave up four walks and six hits while striking out four batters.
For Sussex County in the losing effort, Mikey Reynolds had a 2-for-3 game with a pair of doubles, a run scored and an RBI.
New Jersey 3, Rockland 0
Starting pitcher Yasmani Hernandez and two relievers combined on a five-hit shutout as New Jersey downed Rockland by a 3-0 final.
Hernandez went the first six innings of the contest allowing only four hits while striking out six batters in an 88-pitch performance. The bullpen duo of Jose Velez and Vin Mazzaro finished the final three innings and combined allowed two walks and a hit with six strikeouts. Hernandez notched the win and is now 6-6 on the season.
Offensively for the Jackals, Connor Hofmann went 2-for-4 with a run batted in while Daniel Canela added a pair of hits in three at-bats along with a walk and a run scored. New Jersey scored a run in the third followed up by two runs in the fourth.
For Rockland in the loss, Conrad Gregor and Marcus Nidiffer each collected two hits.
