New Jersey 8, Garden State 4
New Jersey topped Garden State 8-4 thanks to a 4-4 and four RBI day by RF Leandro Castro. After the Grays brought home an unearned run in the top of the first, New Jersey's Castro responded with a two-RBI double, 3B Mark Threlkeld added an RBI-single and SS Anthony Gomez hit a RBI-double to give New Jersey a 4-1 lead. The lead grew to 5-1 in the third when Castro added another RBI-double.
Garden State cut the lead 5-3 in the third inning with an RBI-walk from CF Darian Sanford and SS Brian Johns added an RBI when he was hit by a pitch. Garden State hit a solo homer in the fourth inning, but Castro responded in the fifth with a solo homer of his own to make it 6-4 Jackals. New Jersey scored two insurance runs in the sixth to make it 8-4.
Sussex County 6, Trois-Riveres 5
Sussex County 2B Ryan Pineda hit a two-run walk-off homer to help defeated the Aigles 6-5. In the second inning, Aigles 3B Eric Grabe hit an RBI-single to give Trois-Rivieries a 1-0 lead. Sussex County responded in the bottom half with a sacrifice fly from C Jayson Hernandez and an RBI-double by LF Ryan Mathews to take a 2-1 advantage. Miners DH Kenny Bryant hit a two-RBI single in the third inning to boost the lead to 4-1.
The Aigles then scored four runs in the fifth inning to make it 5-4 - after a C Kyle LaFrenz RBI-single, LF Will Walsh and 3B Eric Grabe both hit triples to bring in more runs. In the bottom of the ninth, the Miners had a man in scoring position with two out and Pineda hit a two-run homer to walk-off.
