Pittsfield 5, Rockland 1

Patrick Moran, now 9-3 on the season, allowed just one run, five hits and struck out seven in nine innings pitched, fueling Pittsfield to a 5-1 win against Rockland at Provident Bank Park. Pittsfield scored in the top of the first inning to take an early lead, but Rockland scored one of its own in the bottom of the third to tie the score. Right fielder Ryde Rodriguez's run would be the Boulders' only run of the game. Pittsfield took the lead back in the fifth and added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth when designated hitter Chris Torres and catcher Scott Knazek each knocked one in. The Colonials scored their last and final run in the ninth inning when left fielder Jermel Lomack batted in Knazek. Four different Colonials recorded a pair of hits in the game, and first baseman Cristobal Santana led Rockland with two hits in four at-bats. Ryan Knippschild, now1-3 on the season, recorded the loss by allowing nine hits, four runs and striking out four in eight innings pitched.
