New Jersey 9, Quebec 5

The visiting New Jersey Jackals defeated the Quebec Capitales by a score of 9-5. Jackals 3B Nick Giarraputo had a team-high two RBIs in the game and went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run and three runs scored. New Jersey CF Sean M. Smith went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, and LF Jordan Newton went 1-for-4 with an RBI double. Jackals starting pitcher Mike Moore pitched six innings, allowing just one earned run on four hits to earn the win. For Quebec, LF Robert Wagner had a double and an RBI in the loss.

Pittsfield 16, New York 2 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

The Pittsfield Colonials were dominant at the plate in this one, amassing 16 runs on 15 hits to rout New York 16-2 in game one of a doubleheader. Colonials 1B Angel Molina , 3B Billy Mottram and DH Chris Torres all had three RBIs apiece to lead Pittsfield. Molina went 4-for-5 at the plate with a home run and three runs scored, and Torres hit a two-run homer in the game. Mottram had a double and a triple and scored three runs to go with his three RBIs. Center fielder Jerod Edmonson hit a solo home run and had two RBIs in the game, and RF Keith Beauregard hit a solo homer as well for the Colonials. Pittsfield starting pitcher David Qualben worked five innings to earn the win and conceded two runs on four hits. For New York, DH Derrick Pyles went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI in the loss.

Pittsfield 5, New York 3 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

Home runs from RF Keith Beauregard and LF Jerod Edmondson helped Pittsfield top New York 5-3 and sweep both games of a doubleheader. Edmondson hit a solo homer in the bottom of the third, and Beauregard hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to give Pittsfield a 4-1 lead at that point. Each player also homered in game one of the doubleheader. Colonials 1B Angel Molina went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI. Colonials starting pitcher Patrick Moran worked five innings to earn the win. Moran conceded just one earned run on six hits and also fanned four hitters. Chris Rubio pitched two scoreless innings to earn the save for Pittsfield. New York RF Tom Maloney hit a two-RBI double in a losing effort.

Newark 6, Rockland 1 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

The visiting Newark Bears scored two runs in the second inning and tallied four runs in the third frame to earn a 6-1 victory over the Rockland Boulders in game one of a doubleheader. Bears 1B Burt Reynolds had perhaps the biggest hit of the game when he launched a three-run home run in the top of the third inning that gave Newark a 5-0 lead. Later in the inning, Newark DH Brad Jackson hit an RBI triple that plated SS Chase Fontaine and gave Newark a 6-0 lead. Also for Newark, 3B Paddy Matera went 2-for-3 with a double and also scored a run. Bears starter Alex Smith worked all seven innings, scattering eight hits and allowing just one run to earn the win. Smith fanned four hitters and walked just one. For Rockland, RF Jeremy Slayden batted in his team's only run in the loss.

Rockland 9, Newark 8 (Game 2 - 7 Innings)

The Rockland Boulders outlasted the Newark Bears to earn a 9-8 win and split the two games of a doubleheader. Boulders LF Jeremy Slayden hit a two-run homer and collected three RBIs in the game, and C Chase Weems also hit a two-run home run and tallied three RBIs. Rockland DH Barry Wesson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and 3B Ryan Mollica went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Rockland starting pitcher Ryan Knippschild earned the win, working five innings and allowing six runs on eight hits. Adrian Martin earned the save for the Boulders. For Newark, SS Chase Fontaine went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the loss.

Worcester 4, Brockton 0 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

The Worcester Tornadoes plated three total runs in the first two innings to beat the Brockton Rox 4-0 in game one of a doubleheader. Tornadoes 3B Mark Minicozzi hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first and led Worcester with two RBIs. Tornadoes C Alex Trezza went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and SS Tony Patane singled in a run. Worcester starting pitcher Zach Zuercher scattered four hits in 5.1 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Brockton at Worcester (Game 2 - Still in Progress)

Game two of a doubleheader between Brockton and Worcester is still in progress. Currently, the game is tied 1-1 in the bottom of 5th inning.
