Newark 8, Worcester 7

Despite conceding seven total runs in the first two innings, the Newark Bears rallied to beat the Worcester Tornadoes 8-7. Worcester jumped out to an early lead when C Alex Trezza belted a grand slam in the top of the first. Newark plated four in their half of the inning to level the score 4-4. Worcester added three more runs in the top of the second to make the score 7-4, but they would not score for the rest of the game. After conceding seven runs in two innings, Newark starting pitcher Casey Gaynor recovered, allowing zero runs and just one hit in his next three innings pitched. Gaynor tossed five innings in total and was credited with the win. Newark 2B Todd Gossage hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third, 1B Daryle Ward doubled in a run in the fourth, and 3B Burt Reynolds smacked a two-run homer in the fifth to complete the comeback and give Newark the 8-7 lead. Bears pitcher Mikey Mehlich worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save. Newark's Ward and C Billy Alvino each had two RBIs in the game, and LF Brandon Watson went a perfect 5-for-5 from the plate.

New Jersey 15, New York 7

New Jersey CF Chris White went 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBIs and a run scored as the Jackals defeated the New York Federals 15-7. The Jackals scored 13 total runs in the first four frames to lead 13-2 after four innings. Jackals 3B Nick Giarraputo went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored and LF Jeremy Slayden had two hits in five at-bats with two runs scored and two RBIs. Jackals starting pitcher Chris Vasami allowed seven runs, but only three were earned, and he earned the win. For New York, RF Jacob Fabry hit his first home run of the season and collected three RBIs in a losing effort.

Rockland 5, Brockton 3 (Game 1 - 7 Innings)

Rockland scored three in the sixth and two in the seventh to take game one of a doubleheader 5-3 against Brockton. Rockland starter Drew Coffey tossed five scoreless innings, striking out five and allowing just two hits to earn the win. Rockland 1B Cristobal Santana had three RBIs on the night, and DH Vic Buttler and 3B Ryan Mollica each had an RBI. Rockland reliever Adrian Martin pitched the final one and one-third innings to earn the save. For Brockton, LF Ryan Royster went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI in a losing effort.

Rockland at Brockton (Cancelled - Curfew)

The second game of the doubleheader between Rockland and Brockton has been cancelled due to curfew. Since the teams do not meet again in the first half, the game will not be made up.
