Quebec 4, Pittsfield 3

Quebec scored the winning run in the bottom of the first inning en route to a 4-3 win against Pittsfield. In the bottom of the first, Quebec third baseman Pete LaForest drove in right fielder Sebastien Boucher for the first run of the game. In the next at-bat, First baseman Rene Leveret hit a home run and earned three RBI. Pittsfield scored a pair or runs in the top of the fourth and one more in the sixth, but it wasn't enough to fuel the Colonials to a win. Pittsfield had eight hits in the game, while Quebec only had three. Winning pitcher Karl Gelinas allowed eight hits, three runs and struck out four in six innings pitched.

Newark 12, New York 3

Newark's 15 total hits fueled the Bears to a 12-3 win against New York in the first game of a five-game series. Newark led New York 12-0 until the top of the ninth inning, when the Federals scored its only three runs of the game. Newark first baseman Daryle Ward led the Bears with three hits in four at bats and three RBI. Danny Santiesteban hit a home run in the bottom of the fifth inning to score three Bears and put Newark ahead 7-0. Five Federals combined for New York's five total runs. Pitcher Jacob Wild earned his first win of the game, allowing just three hits, no runs and striking out six in six innings pitched.
