Brockton 3, Worcester 1

First baseman Melvin Falu had three hits in four at-bats and a pair of RBI to lead Brockton to a 3-1 win against Worcester. Brockton scored first in the second inning when Chris Grossman slammed a home run, and Falu batted in two more Rox runs the third and fifth innings. Winning pitcher Mike Smith - now 1-0 this season - allowed five hits and one run in five innings pitched. Designated hitter Nick Salotti registered two hits in four at-bats to lead Worcester, but the Tornadoes were only able to post one run in the game. Pitcher Zach Zeurcher registered his first loss of the season, allowing nine hits, three runs, and striking out four in 5.1 innings pitched.

New Jersey 8, Pittsfield 4

bolstered by a five-run second inning, New Jersey toppled Pittsfield 8-4. Mike Jones hit a home run early in the second inning, driving in two runs. Center fielder Chris White and left fielder Leonard Davis drove in the next three runs late in the inning to give New Jersey a 5-1 lead. Second baseman Argenis Reyes notched four hits in five at-bats and three RBI to lead New Jersey. Pittsfield was able to score two runs in the bottom of the ninth in an attempted comeback, but left fielder Rafael Cabreja struck out swinging to get the third out and end the game. Winning pitcher Isaac Pavlik allowed five hits, one run and struck out 10 in six innings pitched.

New York 3, Quebec 2

After going scoreless for the first eight innings, New York notched three runs in the top of the ninth to squeak by Quebec 3-2. Quebec was the first team to score when the Capitales registered a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth. Left fielder Robert Wagner and designated hitter Pete LaForest each had an RBI in the inning. In the top of the ninth, first baseman Eddie Lantigua hit a three-run home run, fueling the Federals to the come-from-behind victory.
