Ottawa 10, Sussex County 8 - Box Score
Ottawa jumped out to a 6-1 lead after 3 ½ innings of play and would have to hold off a late rally by Sussex County to win, 10-8.
The Champions pounded out 16 hits in the contest with five batters having multi-hit games. Ottawa LF Malik Collymore led the way going 4-for-6 with a run scored and three RBIs. Champions C Stephen Octave had three hits in four at-bats along with two runs and an RBI while CF Steve Brown collected a pair of runs and two RBIs in a 1-for-2 day. First baseman Leonardo Reginatto also helped the Ottawa offense by picking-up three hits and driving in two runs.
Champions starting pitcher Jared Mortensen tossed six innings of work and notched his fifth win of the season. Mortensen allowed four earned runs on six hits and struck out four batters.
For the Miners in the loss, 3B Jarred Mederos went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and four RBIs.
