Can-Am League Game Recap
August 8, 2012 - Canadian American League (Can-Am) News Release
Quebec 5, Rockland 3 (Game 1 - 7 innings)
The Boulders used a three-run Landis Wilson homer to rally in the top of the seventh inning against Quebec in Game 1 on Wednesday, but the Capitales' 5-0 lead was too much to overcome. Quebec won the game, 5-3. Capitales RF Steve Brown hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning, bringing his club's lead to 4-0. It was Brown's 12th jack of the season and his only hit of the game.
No player in the game had more than one hit, with both squads combining for only eight hits. The clubs, on the other hand, struck out a total of 13 times. Starting Capitales pitcher Jeff Duda gave up just two of those hits in seven innings, allowing three runs with six strikeouts to pick up the win.
