Can-Am League Game Recap
Published on August 18, 2011 under Canadian American League (Can-Am) News Release
Brockton 4, Quebec 2 (Final - 14 innings)
The Rox twice went six innings without a run against Quebec on Thursday. But a two-run Keith Brachold homer in the bottom of the 14th inning cured all of his club's offensive woes and gave the team a 4-2, extra-innings win over the Capitales. It was Brachold's only hit of the night and his 18th homer of the season. Quebec took an early, 2-0 lead on a second-inning, two-run double from CF Goefrey Tomlinson. But for the next 12 innings, the Rox pitching staff kept the Capitales lineup quiet. Brockton put seven different men on the mound, but it was Zach Woods who got the win. Woods came in with two outs in the 14th and struck out Rene Leveret, setting the stage for Brachold's walk-off homer.
