The Brockton Rox broke a 2-2 tie with three big runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Nashua Pride and run their winning streak to five games. Rox starter John Kelly was sensational on the mound as he went eight solid innings allowing only one earned run on five hits with two walks and 11 strikeouts. Kelly is now 5-4 on the year. Jason Colson led the way offensively for Brockton going 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored. 2B Melvin Falu and LF Dennis Abreu each chipped in with two hits of their own for the Rox.

Sussex 10, Worcester 4 (Completion of Suspended Game from July 22)

Sussex ran out to a 9-0 lead after four innings and would cruise from there to a win over the Worcester Tornadoes in the completion of the suspended game from yesterday. The Skyhawks' 1-2-3 hitters of CF Ron Perodin, SS Kevin Rios and RF Jorge Moreno went a combined 5-for-14 at the plate with six runs scored and six RBI. Rios and Moreno each hit home runs as well for Sussex. Matt Salvato picked up his sixth win of the season for the Skyhawks hurling four innings giving up three earned runs on four hits with two punchouts. Worcester 2B Omar Pena went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in defeat this afternoon.

Worcester 2, Sussex 0 (Regularly Scheduled Game - Suspended/Bottom 2)

@ Worcester, MA.

The regularly scheduled game between Sussex and Worcester was suspended due to rain with the Tornadoes leading 2-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning. The suspended game will be completed on Monday, July 28 in Sussex beginning at 5:00 PM. The regularly scheduled will follow and be a seven inning game.

Quebec vs. New Jersey (Postponed - Rain)

@ Little Falls, NJ.

The game scheduled between Quebec and New Jersey was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow, July 24, beginning at 5:05 PM. Both games will be seven innings.

Atlantic City 13, Ottawa 3

@ Ottawa, ON. Time: 2:50 Attendance: 1,663

After falling behind 2-0 after the first inning, the Atlantic City bats woke up in a big way, tallying 15 hits and 13 runs en route to an easy win on the road. The one through three hitters for the Surf combined to go 8-for-17 in the game with five runs scored and four RBI. Included in that trio was DH Clyde Williams, who led all hitters with a 3-for-6 effort. Atlantic City starting pitcher JC Huguet picked up the win. He allowed two runs on six hits while striking out four and walking none in six innings of work. The victory for Huguet runs his record to 7-2 on the season.
