The Quebec Capitales survived a late rally to nip the Brockton Rox on the road. Trailing 4-0 entering the seventh inning, the Rox clawed back to within a run by scoring three times, but Quebec starting pitcher Michel Simard stopped the damage there and earned his 10th win of the year. Simard allowed three runs on six hits while fanning six in seven innings of work. Capitales C Greg Stevens led the way at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Brockton 2B Melvin Falu was 1-for-4 on the night, hitting his 24th double, tying him for the league lead with Chris Colabello of Worcester.

The Worcester Tornadoes rapped out 13 hits en route to an easy win at home against Atlantic City. The duo of RF Scott Grimes and LF Francisco Caraballo did the bulk of the damage at the plate for Worcester, combining to go 6-for-9 with a home run apiece, two runs scored and five RBI. Tornadoes SS Chuck Jeroloman also went deep and finished the game 1-for-3 with a pair of runs scored. Worcester starting pitcher Junior Guerrero allowed two runs on six hits while striking out five in six innings of work to notch the win and improve to 6-4 on the season.
