Montreal Alouettes News Release

Trois-Rivières - On day five of training camp, presented by le Salon de jeux de Trois-Rivières, it is quarterback Davis Alexander who is standing out. With a year of experience under his belt, he has grown in confidence on the field in Trois-Rivières.

His throws have velocity, and he is able to throw accurate passes down the field. Last year he was learning alongside Trevor Harris and his experience with him paid off.

The star server

During the offseason, Alexander got a job as a server at Goldie's Restaurant in Arizona, a sports bistro he's been going to since he was a kid. "I would work out early in the morning and have free time the rest of the day," said the 24-year-old. "I like to see people, I'm a people person so this job was perfect for me."

Alexander worked several jobs cumulatively, from host, to waiter, to a bus boy. Then as the months went by, word got around to go to "Goldie's" to fraternize with the Alouettes' star server.

"Yes it happened that I was recognized, clients asked to take pictures with me and people would talk to me about my football career. I loved working with the public, it was a great experience." Plus, as sports fan, Alexander could watch football, hockey, and tennis games at work because the restaurant had over 50 screens! "I was working while watching sports, it was the good life," he said with a smile.

First practice for Lwal Uguak

Canadian defensive end Lwal Uguak was on the field for the first time since signing with the Alouettes on Wednesday morning. Uguak, who is wearing number 96, was the team's first-round pick, 7th overall, in 2023.

The Alouettes added the following players today :
