KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Sacramento Republic FC returned to winning ways on Tuesday night, earning a 3-1 win on the road against Swope Park Rangers at Children's Mercy Park. Cameron Iwasa scored a brace that broke the club's all-time record for most goals scored in USL play, while Republic FC's 16-year-old Quincy Butler made his USL debut.

Republic FC should have opened the scoring in the 20th minute after SPR keeper Eric Dick gave the ball the away just outside his box. Iwasa intercepted the errant back pass and rushed at goal, but his shot was blocked by Dick in the one-on-one with his former teammate.

The home side responded just a few minutes later when former SRFC midfielder Tyler Blackwood found Felipe Hernandez in the box. The Sporting Kansas City Academy product cut inside to lose Just Schmidt's mark and fired a curler that sailed just wide of the post.

Just as the teams looked to be headed into the locker rooms scoreless, Iwasa made amends for his earlier miss. Jaime Villarreal linked up with Iwasa, setting him free on goal with a short through ball just inside the box and the forward fired a diagonal shot at goal that beat Dick to put his side up 1-0 with 45 minutes played.

Iwasa doubled Republic FC's lead eight minutes into the second half. Emrah Klimenta, who had come on as a halftime substitute for Luis Espino, sent a curling ball into the box from the right wing to Iwasa who made a diving header to put Republic FC up 2-0.

Swope Park pulled one back in the 70th minute after Kharlton Belmont beat Klimenta's mark on the left wing and sent a low cross into the box that Hadji Barry slotted at the back post to make the score 2-1.

Christian Eissele then recorded his third goal of the season in the 88th minute to put the game away for the visitors. Wilson Kneeshaw set off a counter attack, laying a ball out wide to Iwasa who picked his head up and a sent a diagonal through ball into the box to an onrushing Eissele. The forward fired a clinical, first-time shot to put the ball into the back of the net and clinch the win for Sacramento.

A minute into stoppage time, Republic FC Head Coach Simon Elliott sent on 16-year-old SRFC Academy product Quincy Butler to make his official USL debut and put the bow on a convincing road victory.

The three points move Republic FC to second place in the Western Conference. Next up for Sacramento is a road tilt to Colorado for a Saturday evening matchup against Colorado Switchbacks FC.
