YOUNGSTOWN, OH- Youngstown Phantoms left winger Cam Morrison has been named USHL Forward of the Week after a four point weekend against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Morrison has scored in four straight games for Youngstown, including twice this past Saturday, October 31st. The rookie winger has 12 points through nine games.

"I know that my coaches and the system we play has contributed to my success. Getting to the net has been important for me so far. My linemates (Chase Pearson and Yushiro Hirano) have really helped me out with advice and support. Coach Wroblewski has given me a lot of opportunity and advice which has also really helped me be successful to this point," Morrison said.

Morrison currently leads the Youngstown Phantoms in scoring, and is fourth overall in USHL scoring. He is only two points shy of the league lead in scoring by first year NHL Draft-eligible players, despite playing three less games than the current leader. Morrison leads all USHL rookies in scoring.

"There is no secret to Cam's success. He works extremely hard in practice, is responsible in his own end, and advances pucks through the neutral zone. His large frame and ability to make plays below the tops of the circles is very difficult for opponents to defend," said Phantoms Head Coach John Wroblewski.

The Aurora, Ontario native played last season for the Aurora Tigers (OJHL), and was the 2015 OJHL Rookie of the Year. Morrison is currently committed to play college hockey at the University of Notre Dame.
