FACTS & STATS: Site: Stockton Arena (10,000) - Stockton, California. Television: SJTV (Local). Overall Record: Orlando 1-16, California 7-8. Home Record: Orlando 1-8, California 3-5. Away Record: Orlando 0-8, California 4-3. Series Record: 1-1.
GAME NOTES: The California Cougars (7-8) begin the second half of the season at Stockton Arena against the expansion Orlando Sharks (1-16) on January 27 at 6:15 p.m. California has lost four straight games including a Friday night loss to Orlando on January 18. The Sharks defeated the Cougars 16-13 for their first win in franchise history. Orlando led early and throughout most of the game. The Cougars trailed 11-4 at the beginning of the third quarter but were able to battle back and tie the game at 11 apiece before the Sharks capitalized on a power play score in the fourth. The Cougars then lost their next match the following afternoon in New Jersey (17-14). The Cougars have surprisingly been a better team away from Stockton Arena this year after posting a 4-3 road mark and a sub par 3-5 home record. Before this season the Cougars had a franchise road record of 4-26.

Sharks earn first win in team history, defeat Cougars 16-13
Orlando, FL - January 18, 2008 - Bill Sedgewick and the Orlando Sharks earn a hard fought home win over the California Cougars, 16-13 at Amway Arena. The Sharks improve to 1-16 on the season after defeating the 7-7 Cougars for the first win in the organizations history. The Sharks roster is built on the legs of 12 rookies, but it was the Orlando veterans that were the difference in the contest. Orlando didn't control the ball as well as the Cougars, but they did take advantage of every opportunity given to them.
Ironmen win nail biter 17-14 over Cougars
Newark, NJ - January 19, 2008 - Craig Scheer led the California Cougars (7-8) offense with two three-point goals and an assist for a career high seven points in the Cougars 17-14 loss to the New Jersey Ironmen (10-5) in a Saturday matinee match in Newark. Goran Vasic matched Scheer with seven points including four assists and a three point goal for New Jersey. With the loss, the Cougars have dropped two straight on the road and four straight overall since starting the season at 7-4.
