OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Craig Scheer, California Cougars, MF

Scheer scored twice in California's 16-13 loss to the expansion Orlando Sharks on Friday night. His first goal was a crucial score early in the third quarter that closed the Orlando lead to two at the beginning of the second half. Scheer added an assist and two three-point scores for seven points against New Jersey on Saturday. His first goal answered an Ironmen two-score rally and it closed the New Jersey lead to one point in the second quarter. His second goal gave the Cougars their final lead in the game at 14-13 in the third. Scheer finished the weekend with 11 points including an assist, two two-point goals and two three-point goals. This season is shaping up to be a career year for the seven year veteran. He has now achieved career highs in three-point goals (3) and points (23) with his breakout year. He has also matched career highs in multi-goal games (2) and game winning goals (2) through 15 games played.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

P.J. Wakefield, Baltimore Blast, D

Blast defender and team captain P.J. Wakefield recorded three points and two blocks in two wins this weekend for the Blast. Wakefield recorded one goal in Friday's 10-9 win over La Raza de Monterrey and one assist and two blocks in Saturday's 12-6 win over the Philadelphia KiXX. Wakefield leads the Blast with 22 blocks and ranks sixth on the team with 14 points.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Dave Kern, Baltimore Blast, GK

Baltimore's back-up goalkeeper Dave Kern earned his third win of the season Saturday night with a 12-6 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX. Kern allowed just three goals in the match and turned away 13 of the 16 shots he faced (81.3 save percentage). Kern has won each of his three starts this season.
