April 6, 2012 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Florence RedWolves News Release
The RedWolves announce the signing of Citadel Cadets to the 2012 summer roster. Kevin Connell a 6-3, 225lb Fr. LHP and Ross White a 6-0, 170lb Fr. LHP from Marion, will add more depth to a stellar group of arms already signed for this season. "We are very happy to have a couple of Citadel guys on this years's team. The Citadel has always sent us top notch players and we expect the same from Connell and White. Also the fact that White is a local player is a big factor for us and it is always great to bring back local guys to play for the local team whenever the opportunity presents itself with a school." CHARITY NIGHTS IN PLACE AGAIN FOR THIS SEASON
The RedWolves have partnered with local businesses to hold nights again this season for some of the area's local charity groups. The RedWolves along with Turner, Padget, Graham & Laney Law Firm will hold "Harvest Hope Food Bank" night on June 22nd and June 23rd Pet Lover's Warehouse will sponsor a night for the Humane Society, "Bark in the Park & Homer's Birthday Party". Each one of these nights will offer fan's a chance to bring items to donate to these groups and in return receive discount vouchers toward future home game tickets. Also on July 20th the RedWolves have teamed up with Domino's Pizza and Palmetto Moon to hold "Cancer Awareness Night." The RedWolves players will wear pink jerseys and use pink bats during the game. While the game is going on a silent auction for the jerseys and bats, along with other items will be held, with the proceeds from the auction going to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. "We are very happy that we can continue to support these causes in our area with help from local businesses." "Our fans over the year have helped out tremendously by bring canned goods for Harvest Hope and food/cleaning supplies for the Humane Society and we expect that help to continue through these events. " "The bidding war for the player's jersey's last year for the Cancer Awareness night was huge and helped raise a lot of money for the ACS in our first year of doing this event. We have things planned for this year to make it an even bigger event to hopefully increase the amount we can give our local chapter."
