
Cabana Recalled to Hershey

Moline, IL-Quad City Mallards President and General Manager Howard Cornfield today announced that right winger Paul Cabana has been recalled to the American League's Hershey Bears. Hershey is the primary affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche. Cabana joins Greg Barber, Robert Gherson, Colin Peters and Martin Wilde as Mallards to earn American League call-ups this season.
Cabana spent 32 games with the Mallards and recorded six goals and 11 assists for 17 points. He leaves the Mallards after recording six assists in his last five outings.
The 6-foot-1, 200 pound right winger spent the 2003-04 season with the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL. Cabana scored 30 goals as a member of the ECHL's highest scoring offense. He also contributed 23 assists as the Inferno averaged 3.82 goals per game. Cabana was held scoreless in a one-game call-up to the AHL's Manitoba Moose.
In his three-year professional career, Cabana has appeared in 120 games recording 39 goals and 42 assists for 81 points with 139 penalty minutes. Cabana attended Michigan Tech for four years prior to turning pro. In 147 college games, Cabana recorded 45 goals and 31 assists for 76 points.
