Orlando City SC News Release
8th - Away PPG
Orlando City are 3-4-4 away from home this season, tying them with the New England Revolution (this week's opponent) and Minnesota United for the eighth-best away points per game in MLS. The Lions have already surpassed their number of away wins from 2018 while tying the mark from 2016 and 2017. With any result on Saturday, Orlando would surpass the 2017 team in total away results with six more road games to go.
8 of 11 - Scoring first
Orlando City had some difficulty scoring first earlier this season, conceding the opening goal in 10 of their first 14 contests. Since June 1, though, Orlando have scored the first goal in eight out of 11 games in all competitions, going 6-1-1 in those eight games. This includes all three victories in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup so far.
10 - JOC's next win
James O'Connor has overseen major progress at Orlando City since arriving last summer, taking a squad that finished last in the East in 2018 and going 10-10-5 in all competitions in 2019. With seven of those wins in MLS and two last year, O'Connor is one win away from his 10th as a Major League Soccer head coach.
1 - Loss under Bruce Arena
The New England Revolution have been spectacular over the past two and a half months. Since parting ways with Brad Friedel on May 9, the Revs are 7-1-4 in all competitions, including an unbeaten 6-0-4 in MLS, which has seen them rise from the bottom of the table to above the red line. New England's only loss under Arena? Against Orlando City in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 at Exploria Stadium on June 19.
9,100,000 - Put a Bou on it
New England have beefed up their roster since Orlando saw them last, adding Argentinian forward Gustavo Bou from Liga MX club Tijuana for what has been reported to be a club-record $7 million fee. The Revs are paying Bou an addition $2.1 million in salary for the 2019 season, making the total outlay for the deal $9.1 million. This does not include potential bonuses he can trigger. Bou has already added a goal and an assist in his first two games.
