Jacksonville Icemen News Release

Jacksonville, FL - The Jacksonville Icemen, proud affiliate of the NHL Winnipeg Jets and AHL Manitoba Moose, today announced a busy slate of home games this week benefiting Making Strides for Autism, the Children's Christmas Party of Jacksonville, and a healthcare workers appreciation promotion.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday: Healthcare Workers BOGO

All healthcare workers can take advantage of buy-one-get-one tickets at any game this week.

Friday & Saturday: Autism Awareness Weekend presented by Slainte Chiropractic

The sensory-friendly games will feature sensory bags available to check out including noise-canceling headphones, as well as a sensory room for breaks from the action. Since hockey games can include loud, sudden noises, and lights, a 'cheat sheet' will be provided so fans will know what to expect. The team will wear specialty Autism awareness jerseys which will be auctioned off after Saturday's game, benefiting Making Strides for Autism.

Saturday: Teddy Bear Toss presented by Community First Credit Union

This annual hockey tradition is a unique way to collect stuffed animals for children's charities. Fans are encouraged to bring new stuffed animals to the game to throw onto the ice following the first Icemen goal, to be donated to the Children's Christmas Party of Jacksonville. Last year, the Icemen collected over 3,000 animals, with a goal of 5,000 this year.
