Business Networking Guide to be Distributed at Volcanoes Stadium

The Salem-Volcanoes baseball club will distribute an area-wide Business Networking Guide, called "The Home Team Guide," this summer at Volcanoes Stadium. "Sports fans like to do business with other sports fans. Advertisers invest billions of dollars each year in Sports Marketing, because sports fans are very loyal to their team and support their teams' advertisers," said Rick Nelson, VP of Operations for the Volcanoes. "The Home Team Guide will be a fabulous and very popular resource for our fans," concluded Nelson.

The Volcanoes will draw their 1 Millionth Fan in 2004. The team is entering its eighth season in Salem-Keizer as the Class A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and are the #1 spectator sport each summer in the Willamette Valley. Baseball America rated the Volcanoes as the Best Class A short season franchise in the nation in terms of fan support and front office operations. Additionally, Volcanoes Stadium was ranked the 4th Best Minor League Stadium in the Nation in its classification (and #1 west of the Mississippi) .

Get in the Guide... Local businesses can now take advantage of the teams popularity by participating in the Networking Directory. For quick reference, the directory will be categorized alphabetically by business classification. To ensure maximum distribution the guide will be distributed Free of charge and will be available to over 120,000 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes fans over the course of their 38 Home Games during June, July, August, & September 2004.

The guide is endorsed by the Volcanoes and it will be promoted over the Stadium's public address system at Volcanoes games and on the Stadium's computer graphics scoreboard. In addition, commercials will air on News-Talk 1430 KYKN. Fans will be encouraged to patronize the businesses who are in "The Home Team Guide". To insure the guide will be sought after and kept, Volcanoes players will autograph guides for fans following each Volcanoes home game.
