Bush To Be Introduced As New Manager

The RockHounds will introduce Darren Bush as the new Manager for the 2009 season on Thursday night at the 18th annual West Texas Sport Banquet; supporting Casa De Amigos and the St. Ann's School Athletic Association. Bush will enter his third season as a manager and his fifth overall as a coach within the Oakland organization.

The RockHounds will start their 2009 campaign on Thursday, April 9th in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bush and the ‘Hounds will open at Citibank Ballpark a week later on Thursday, April 16th. Season tickets, mini plans and sponsorship opportunities are available now.

Darren Bush enters his third year as a manager in the Oakland organization and first with the RockHounds

Spent the previous two years with Single-A Advanced Stockton Ports 2008 - Led the Ports to a 76-64 record and a California League Championship

Defeated Modesto 2-1 in a best of three

Defeated San Jose 3-2 in a best of five

Defeated Lancaster 3-1 in a best of five for the title

2007 - Led the Ports to a 64-76 record

Spent 2005 & 2006 as the Ports hitting coach

2004 - Manager with Quebec in the Can-Am Independent League

2003 - Manager with Berkshire

2002 - Manager with Yuba-Sutter

Spent three seasons in the minor leagues with San Diego (1999-2000) and Philadelphia (2001) as a catcher.

Played three seasons in the Frontier league before before signing with the Padres organization in 1998. Resides in Dunedin, Florida Scott Emerson will return as the RockHounds pitching coach and Webster Garrison will take over the hitting coach duties (held by Casey Myers last year) after managing the RockHounds in 2008.
