Published on August 16, 2005 under USL First Division (USL-1)
Seattle Sounders News Release
On behalf of the Emerald City Supporters please read the following regarding Saturday, August 20th match in Portland : The Emerald City Supports, a group that has followed the Sounders for many years has ordered a charter bus to travel down to Portland for Sounders versus Timbers big match up Saturday, August 20th at PGE Park.
Bus particulars:
There are a few spots left on the bus. Spots will be held on a first-come first-served basis, although we'll "wait-list" people if we get more responses than there are spots -- in case someone else cancels or doesn't pay.
Bus fare is $35 roundtrip. The bus will pick up in two spots -- South Renton Park and Ride in Renton (bus boards at 1:45pm and will depart at or around 2pm), and the SR 512/I-5 Park and Ride, which is just off of I-5 exit 127 at the corner of Highway 512 and South Tacoma Way (it is also next to a McDonald's and there are signs that will direct people to the P&R from I-5).
Kick off is at 7pm. The match should conclude around 9:00pm, the bus pickup will be next to the park, the bus should leave at around 9:30pm and be back in Renton around 12:30-12:45am.
Match tickets are $11 (discounted from $13), in section 113 of PGE Park. You're welcome to purchase tickets through us (cheaper), or you can get them at the PGE Park ticket booth after arrival.
Food and drink are OK on the bus, including beer and wine. The bus company would prefer that drink containers be cans or plastic (glass discouraged), but this is not an outright ban.
If you are interested in joining the supporters on the bus trip, there are limited seats available so please contact Eric Gilbertson at ecs@soundercentral.com.
