Vancouver Whitecaps News Release
Vancouver Whitecaps are pleased to present Umbro/Soccer City Night this Saturday, August 20 v. Minnesota Thunder at Swangard Stadium. The evening will consist of an Umbro/Soccer City Gear Exchange, contests, giveaways and exciting USL First Division action.
The Umbro/Soccer City Gear Exchange will allow fans a vehicle to donate their used soccer boots or gear at the game in exchange for a 40 per cent off coupon on a new pair of Umbro boots at Soccer City. All donated items will benefit MoreSports, a charity which gives inner city youth a chance to learn and play sports.
MoreSports is a recreational sport development initiative, which provides minor sport opportunities to children and youth, based on a set of principles which reflect the uniqueness of inner city Vancouver neighbourhoods.
In addition, there will be a half-time Umbro contest and a lucky row giveaway. In the half-time contest, three people will participate in the Umbro Big Ball Shootout.
With only three regular season home games remaining, tickets are sure to sell quickly. Tickets for Saturday's big tilt and the other two matches, August 27 v. Puerto Rico and September 11 v. Montreal, are available at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, on-line at www.ticketmaster.ca, and by phone 604.280.4400.
