Bumbut Joins Baltimore Blast On Loan

Richmond, VA - (Friday, November 13, 2009) - The Richmond Kickers are pleased to announce that midfielder Adrian Bumbut has joined the Baltimore Blast of the Major Indoor Soccer League for the 2009-10 season.

Over the last two seasons with the Kickers, Adrian has made 37 appearances, amassing six goals and four assists. Adding three goals during his sophomore season, he finished the USL-2 Championship campaign tied for fifth on the team in scoring. Adrian returns to the Baltimore Blast after winning a National Indoor Soccer League Championship with the Blast last season, notching six goals in eight appearances.

Selected by the Chicago Fire in the second round of the 2008 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft, Adrian joined the Kickers roster in 2008 upon graduating from Liberty University. A native of Zalau, Romania, Adrian helped lead Liberty to its first-ever Big South Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Men's College Soccer Cup his senior season. He completed his career ranked fourth on the Liberty all-time points list with 79, while tying for fourth on the school's all-time goals list with 32. Additionally, he garnered All-Big South first team, VaSID All-State first team and All-South Atlantic Region second team honors after finishing tied for second in the Big South Conference with 29 points, leading Liberty for the third consecutive year.

Adrian spent the 2006 season with the Richmond Kickers Future of the Premier Development League, registering four goals, good for second on the team, in 10 appearances.
