Amarillo Bulls News Release

THE TEAMS: Amarillo Bulls @ Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees

WHEN: Tonight (Friday) & Tomorrow (Saturday) Night at 7:30 pm

WHERE: State Farm Arena, Hidalgo, TX

BROADCAST OPTIONS: Listen to the game live on CBS Sports Radio 1440, online at www.amarillobulls.com and on PPV courtesy of Fast Hockey, beginning with the Wayland Baptist University Warm Up Show at 7:10 pm.

THE SERIES: It's just the third and fourth meetings of the season between the Amarillo Bulls and the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. The two teams met back on opening weekend in the Texas Panhandle and haven't seen one another since then. The Killer Bees took the first two 5-3 and 3-2 in overtime. The two teams will see one another again at the end of the month at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: The Amarillo Bulls trail the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees by just two points for the sixth and final playoff spot in the South Division. Each team has played 33 games thus far. Both teams are chasing the Wenatchee Wild for fifth place. The Wild lead the Killer Bees by three points and the Bulls by five.

BULLS BITES: It's been quite a run for Will Harrison, Cody Gylling and Luke Novak in the last 10 games for the Bulls. The three have combined for 17 goals and 35 points. The Bulls are 5-4-1 in their last 10 and goaltender Jacob Weatherly leads the way with three victories. The Bulls have netted nine goals in their last 10 games played.

BEE STINGS: The Killer Bees have netted 13 first goals this season but barely have a .500 mark when doing so at 6-5-2. Rio Grande Valley had a terrible December posting a mark of 1-6-1 that allowed the Bulls to climb back into the race. Kyle Stephan has played well for the Killer Bees in the last 10 games posting six points. Forward Guy Roby has three goals.

ACROSS THE SOUTH: It's a busy weekend in the South Division with three other games on the schedule. The Lone Star Brahmas host the Wenatchee Wild in North Richland Hills for the first of two games. An important series takes place at Kay Yeager Coliseum as the Wichita Falls Wildcats entertain the Topeka RoadRunners. In Corpus Christi at American Bank Center the IceRays host the Odessa Jackalopes.
