Amarillo Bulls News Release

Amarillo, TX - Despite a heavy advantage in shots, the Amarillo Bulls failed to find the back of the net, as the New Mexico Ice Wolves prevailed in the shootout, 1-0, on Friday night.

The Bulls, who were looking to regain the offensive presence that was lacking late in last weekend's win against Corpus Christi, started the game fire a number of shots on the Ice Wolves net. The chances produced a number of quality chances for Amarillo, but the Bulls would be unable to capitalize and took a scoreless game into the first intermission.

The second period looked similar to the first, as Amarillo continued to pelt Ice Wolves goaltender Josh Graziano with shot after shot but to no avail. Charlie Glockner would repeat his effort from the first period and stopped all eight shots he faced in the second frame.

After continuing to fire shot after shot on the New Mexico net in the third period, the Bulls would have to settle for at least a point after being unable to crack Graziano. Overtime would produce more Bulls chances, but the two teams would need to settle the game in the shootout.

Both teams would need four shooters during the back-and-forth, and the final shooter, New Mexico's Griffen Sanom, would tuck home the game winner for the Ice Wolves.

Glockner would stop 27 of 27 shots and 3 of 4 in a valiant effort between the pipes for Amarillo.

The loss drops the Bulls to a 12-4-1-2 record and ends a four-game winning streak for the team.

The Bulls remain on the road as they finish the weekend in Albuquerque against the Ice Wolves on Saturday. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game from the Spicy Mike's Bar-B-Q Broadcast Booth, and the action will begin at 8:00PM CST on 107.1 Nash Icon and Hockey TV.
