Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - When the Amarillo Bulls entertain the Wichita Falls Wildcats in back-to-back games beginning tomorrow (Friday) night at 7 pm they will have a new face in the line-up.
The Bulls acquired forward Brooks Behling from the Chicago Hittmen, in exchange for forward Taylor Ward.
Behling, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, notched seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 21 games. He fired four of his seven markers via the power play and was second on the team in shots on goal with 66.
"Brooks will bring a offensive asset to our program. He comes from Chicago with a skill set of creativity and knack around the net that we are looking for up front," said Head Coach Dennis Williams. "With any trade, you have to give up a good player and good person. Unfortunately, our trade involved Taylor Ward, who was one of our favorites that we admire. He's a solid hockey player and young man. We wish him the best of luck and great success in the future."
In 14 games with the Bulls, Ward had three assists and 47 penalty minutes. He had a plus minus rating of plus five.
The Bulls have won two of the last three games against the Wildcats, including 6-3 last Saturday night in Wichita Falls. The Wildcats are coming off a tough 5-4 loss on home ice to the red hot Texas Tornado on Wednesday night.
It promises to be a busy weekend at the Amarillo Civic Center with plenty of activities for the fans to enjoy. On Friday night, the Bulls will be unveiling their mascot for the first time. Several other area mascots will be in attendance to welcome him to the community. Amarillo's Corvette Club will also have several vehicles on display on the concourse.
Saturday's game is sponsored by Amarillo Pediatric Dentistry, and there will be giveaways throughout the evening. It's also Bank and Credit Union Employee Appreciation Night, with group tickets available through the Bulls office only.
Tickets for this weekend's twin bill are available at all Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets, Civic Center Box Office or on line at www.amarillobulls.com.
