Amarillo Bulls News Release

Amarillo,TX (Nov 23) - The Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League have announced that the team will dedicate the rest of the 2020-21 season to seriously injured player Brian Page.

The 17-year-old forward, who earlier this month signed a tender agreement to the play his junior hockey for the Bulls next season, suffered a severe neck and spinal cord injury Nov. 15 during a game with his 18U team based in Philadelphia. Page had made his NAHL debut for the Amarillo Bulls in a home game against the Lone Star Brahmas on October 31st.

Brian broke his c-5 and c-6 vertebrae and suffered damage to his spinal cord and may not be able to walk again. "He's a fighter," his father Brian Page Sr. said. "We have faith in God. We know with all the prayers, people praying for him that miracles are possible."

A Go Fund Me page has been setup to support the family's journey moving forward ( HYPERLINK "https://www.gofundme.com/f/brian-page-87-strong"https://www.gofundme.com/f/brian-page-87-strong). To show their support for this very special member of the Bulls family, the team will hold charitable raffles and sell auction items at the Bulls home game vs. the Odessa Jackalopes on Wednesday Nov. 25. All Bulls players will wear a sticker on their helmet reading "BP Strong," which will remain affixed to the team's helmets for the rest of this season.

"He is a part of our Bulls family and we will be doing whatever we can to support him," said Bulls head coach Rocky Russo.

The entire Bulls organization invites the Amarillo community to come show its support for Brian Page and his recovery at the day-before-Thanksgiving game on Nov. 25, which will be the last home game with fans before the Amarillo Civic Center closes to the public temporarily due to COVID-19.

"Once a Bull, always a Bull, and we want Brian and his family to know that he is in the hearts of everyone at the Amarillo Bulls organization," said Bulls owner Alberto Fernandez.

Bulls head coach Rocky Russo will be available to discuss the team's efforts to support Brian at his weekly media availability on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at the Amarillo Civic Center.
